Where there’s Muck, There’s Bras is a hilarious and thought-provoking show which sees stand-up poet Kate Fox explores the Northern women you’ve heard of (and the ones you haven’t).

The idea for this website came about while Kate was researching the show. Kate says:

I realised that there was no one source for all the notable Northern women there have been. This website contains information about some of the women I decided to feature in the show and also acts as a signpost about other women from the North who have been activists, leaders, writers, entertainers, sportspeople, politicians and pioneers in all sorts of ways. Hopefully it might be a useful resource. Lass War will continue to add to and maintain this website and this list as a way of honouring the many sung and unsung women of the North of England.

If you have a suggestion of a notable woman we should include, then do get in touch using the contact page.
